About Reunion…
Why is it called Reunion?
Once upon a time, there was a convention that ran in the Midlands called Midcon. This convention ran for twenty years and a whole community of people met and grew to love this annual fling. Sadly Midcon stopped running years a go and over time people began to miss it.
So it was with great pleasure that we reunited the fans that knew and loved the event. We welcomed a whole group of new fans to the Midlands convention experience. Oh yes, and we moved a few miles down the road, from Leicester to Coventry, and now to Walsall.
If you want to get more information about the people who are running this event then take a gander at this web page to see what we've been up to for the last 15 years.
What can I expect to happen?
The convention will begin on Friday at 1pm. Doors will open on Saturday and Sunday from 10am. Dealer rooms will be open all day so you can make all those special purchases. Talks, autograph and photo sessions, auctions and quizzes will take place during the day. If you would like to enter the art, model, fiction or poetry competitions then contact us via this web site and bring your entry with you on the day you arrive.
On Friday night we begin the evening with the opening ceremony. This will be followed by a series of party games for as many people as possible. Following the games is the first in our series of nightly disco parties. The exclusive Alumni ticket cocktail party is also held on Friday evening.
On Saturday evening we have the Fancy dress competition. We encourage contestants to bring their costume of choice and join in the parade. Fabulous prizes abound! The theme this year is The Wacky Racers and Hanna-Barbera.
Before the party on Sunday night, we must sadly conclude our merry making with the closing ceremony. Our guests will be handing out prizes for the winners of the fiction, art and fancy dress competitions. The event will officially close when the last record is played at the disco.
Don't forget that you can book for next year's Reunion during the weekend and benefit from a reduced ticket price!
What is the Alumni Ticket?
This is a special ticket for those fans wanting to enjoy a cocktail party with our guests. This party gives you the chance to have a one to one conversation with any of our stars. There is also a complimentary glass of champagne, chocolate fountains and goodie bag.
Alumni ticket holders will have reserved seating in the front rows in the main Hall. They will also be entitled to go first in the autograph queue.
Can I get food there?
This years hotel menu will be improved and will run all weekend. This means that you could stay in the hotel all day and not venture outside. If you wish to eat elsewhere it's only 5 minutes by car to Walsall where you can find all the main restaurant chains and some very good independent eateries, but please only consume food and drink in the hotel if it was purchased in the hotel.
Will you book the rooms?
Yes! We book all hotel rooms so that you get the benefit of a reduced hotel room rate.
Do not book rooms directly with the hotel, as this will confuse issues at check-in and you'll be charged the standard rate.
How do I find the Hotel?
Details on the Quality Hotel Walsall and how to get there can be found here.
I've got a question!
